Cats and the Art of Zen…

Cats and the Art of Zen...

“I put down my book, The Meaning of Zen, and see the cat smiling into her fur as she delicately combs it with her rough pink tongue.

“Cat, I would lend you this book to study but it appears you have already read it,”  I murmured…

***

She looks up and gives me her full gaze.  “Don’t be ridiculous,”  she purrs, “I wrote it.”

  1. Hi Patti, A few weeks ago you asked “and just can’t figure out how to rejuvenate my curiosity and interest.
Got any ideas? I’d be pleased to entertain any concepts.”
I have thought long and hard may times on how to answer that question.
Here is what I think, it may not be worth much but … I have a message saved on my phone form you it is over a year old. It asks where am I what am I up to because an email bounced back to you. It has genuine feeling, caring and support that I have landed somewhere and am happy. When I first met you and every time there after you always had a moment, you always had kind words, you were always supportive. I am just another person of thousands and thousands you have meet and it must be that you were that way with everyone you ever met.
So what can you do, On the good days reach out to the 1000’s you know and say hi, via email , carrier pigeon, smoke signals or what ever, Say HI it will make some ones day . They have always been happy to hear and I assume 1000’s will agree with me.

    • Allan, you flatter me. Tears come leaking down the corners of eyes as I read your comment.

Funny thing, By fortune of the many places I’ve lived and the type of work I’ve done – I feel so lucky to meet people like you – friends are special crystals in our life, and you are at the very top of that list!

So, Istill DO want to know how you are and how you are feeling! If you ever want to emai to let me know your news, Please???!!! 🙂

    • Allan, thank you so much for your words of encouragement and kindness! I forgot the value of “just saying hi!” I forgot the value of simply caring for someone else. Thanks for the reminder!

Also, I think having had the opportunity over the past 10 years to become a work safety trainer provided a blessing in my life that I never will forget ’till the day I die. Since I don’t know where you are now and what you are up to, could you email me sometime and catch me up to your “goings-on?” You can reach me privately via email at richardandpattiredd at gmail dot com (this usually keeps the spammers away!)

I found a quote by an unknown person today that I thought you would like: “Stay Centered By Accepting Whatever You Are Doing.”

I kind of like that one! Hugs, P
